Music!!
I'd be a fool if I were to say that I liked music...because that'd be a supreme understatement. I luxuriate in music, get lost in the notes, fantasize about being a rock star or dancer to it, I live in it. I've gone through my best and worst triumphs and losses to music, so when people laugh at the idea of having a soundtrack to your life, I have to second guess them. I know some of these groups, okay, all of these groups aren't new, but hell, they're good-Plus they make me happy and I'm the one writing so I can do what I want!

They top my list because when someone asks me who my favorite group is they are the first name I pull out of the mental Rolodex. The soaring guitars, anguish, despair, this band's music sounds like it wreaks of cigarettes and NYC loft parties. I can tell you anything about any song they have recorded, own everything they've ever put out, and have all of their music memorized. My heart belongs to Interpol, they have everything I look for in music.

Radiohead :
Honestly, if you like good music, Radiohead factors into any best of the best list simply for their contributions to the 20th century's music scene. Besides that, they're really really fucking talented. Kid A and OK Computer are like electronic symphonies, and you cannot argue with that, plus they're good from beginning to end. Amnesiac is also an amazing collection of music, even if it didn't get good reviews.

Maria Callas :
Maria Callas was a goddess, and her voice makes me cry. Her story is also really interesting, she sang for most of her life, and it shows in her vocal control, she is where I really discovered the meat of opera vocals, and remains an inspiration to this day.

I like a strong Samba beat, but can also savor Maracatu and Bossa Nova just as easily, Sergio Mendes is a master of these, as well as Pipoca music. The albums he did with Brasil66 are also noteworthy, he took Our music to the rest of the world, and did it in a way that America could swallow it in the turbulent 60's.

Plans
So, I've been thinking about what I plan to do with this next year, and here's what i've come up with:
Open My Store-Crossed Leg's to be exact. I came up with the name by thinking about something that most girls do, and I don't know any broads who don't cross them legs at least sometimes. The entire idea behind the store is that I know so many girls/guys who're looking for dope clothes in Dallas. I've been collecting vintage clothing for years, and now my collection is to the point where it would make sense to get rid of some of it. My apartment would be the location of course, so as to create a very personal experience with people. I think the idea is fierce, and am looking to open this summer.
Grow This Blog-The HoneyPot is my baby. I started it because I couldn't find anything like it....which I think is the reason for some of the best projects. My girl Cuba was chosen to get on because when I met her this summer she seemed like the kind of girl I'd want to be down with, on anything...she's got a love for streetwear that rivals my own love of fashion, plus she wants to see Dallas blow up, just like me. That's my girl till death! The blog seems like the start of something we'd both be proud of.
Promote Promote Promote!!!-If you kick it with me on a large scale you know I'm always pushing somebody's shit. I like progress, and things won't progress without people like me who are willing to take time out of their days to promote things. Events, Openings,Parties, whatever, I love people, and going out is my way to connect with new people. Especially the cute ones, even if they do leave town for months on end.

And due to the limited supply of female street wear, Im taking the epidemic in my own hands and will be debuting my own shirt line this spring/summer. Yessur! Its called Fattie Boom Bottie. It's A Family Affair
In case you weren't aware, my initial reason for setting up this blog was to give Dallas women a place to go to for their info. Cuba is one of my best girls, If someone asked me if I knew any fierce, motivated grown women, she'd be the first one to pop into my head......She also loves streetwear, which will always be where I fall short, so she'll be giving you guys the news in gear, while I serve up the fashion and events.

I listen to Samba more than I'd like to admit. It's the equivalent of booty bass for us. But I never hear it in clubs, except at "The Party". Dallas is very much safe from the "World Music" heads who dominate other big cities.....But we need something besides rap and rock, ya dig?
