VIDEO LOVESinging is my first love. Actually, I take that back, Music as a whole is my first love, but singing comes in at a close second. The idea of melting your voice around a note is amazing, and being good at that is usually awe inspiring. I've met men who would be wrapped around my little finger after 30 seconds of "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones....
Ah, The Good Old Days.
But I am moving away from my point. Aaliyah used to be one of those singers I would brush off or disregard, thinking her voice was too small for her to garner any real merit as a vocal artist. I still feel that way. And I scoffed at the hoopla around her death as well. Now I look back like, her "Her songs were cute, I danced to em' and shit, I even know them by heart, Why was I trippin?" Oh well. Here's some love for BabyGirl:
We Need A Resolution (I was in love with the belly thing she does here)
More Than A Woman (I've memorized the dance sequence in the end of this video)
Try Again (Is anyone else in love with the Spring 2001/D&G she's rocking?)
If Your Girl Only Knew

Speaking of iconic sounds...I grew up on the Neptune sound, that funky electronic shit that Pharrell and Chad used to infuse into tracks from 1998-2003.... They're still doing stuff, but this was, in my opinion, their heyday. Everybody was using them, and for a while it was hot...then all of a sudden it wasn't.
Oh well.
Here's some hotness for you, so you can relive it with me:
Caught Out There-Kelis
I Just Want To Love You/Give It To Me-JayZ
Knock Yourself Out/We Gon' Make It-Jadakiss
What It Is Right Now-Busta Rhymes
When The Last Time-Clipse
Danger-Mystikal
